Our vision is to create a world in which  physicians are recognized for their excellence, compassion, and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for all. We believe that by promoting professional solidarity, cultural understanding, and ethical values, we can inspire and support the next generation of physicians to become leaders in their communities and beyond.

 

Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of a sustainable and equitable healthcare system in Peru, where access to quality care is a fundamental right for all.

Our Mission

Promote collaboration, collegiality, and professional advancement among medical students and graduates applying to residency programs and  physicians training and practicing in the US.

Our Team

Alicia Olave-Pichon MD, MPH

Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellow

Dr. Olave-Pichon was born and raised in Cusco, Peru. She completed her medical school at the Catholic University of Santa Maria. She worked for three years in Peru before obtaining a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During this time, she received the Student Achievement Award and Chancellor’s Student Service and Leadership Award for her volunteer work with community and non-profit organizations. She completed her pediatric residency at the Puerto Rico Women and Children’s Hospital and was recognized with the Pediatric Residency Research Award and the TUMI USA Award. Dr. Olave-Pichon is a 3rd-year fellow in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Rochester in NY.

Ivonne Veli MD

Family Medicine Resident

Dr. Veli is graduated from San Martin de Porres University. She has experience in primary healthcare and has completed her training as a family medicine physician in Spain. Currently, she is an incoming family medicine resident in New Mexico, USA. Her medical interests include geriatrics, pain management, and palliative and hospice care.

Anthony Ramos MD

Internal Medicine Resident

Dr. Ramos-Yataco graduated from San Marcos University, located in Lima, Peru. He is a first-year internal medicine resident at the University of Miami. He is passionate about improving health disparities and blazing the path for International Medical Graduates (IMGs).

Efrain Flores MD

Pediatrician

Dr. Flores is a board-certified pediatrician with a specialization in the care of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Trujillo, Peru, and completed his residency at San Juan Bautista Medical Center in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He also completed an internship at Ponce University Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Flores is a member of Silver Cross Health Connection, a physician-hospital organization (PHO) comprised of independent physicians who have been approved by some health plans to treat patients within the Silver Cross Health Connection network. He is dedicated to providing high-quality care to his patients and making the provider selection process easier for them.

Aranza Pinedo MD, MT

Pathology Resident

Dr. Pinedo Pichilinguee is s currently an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Resident at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Graduated from Universidad Peruana Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). Master in University Teaching from Universidad Tecnológica del Peru. Former Professor of Pathology and Pre-Clinical Sciences at UPC. CPathology Advocate & Coach.

Alex Sanchez MD

Internist and geriatrician

Dr. Sanchez is the founder and president of Midwest Professional Medical Care Inc. Dr. Sanchez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, licensed in Illinois, and holds staff positions at several prominent hospitals including Ascension Alexian Brothers, Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center, and Northwest Community Hospital. He also serves as Medical Director at Little Sisters of the Poor in Palatine, Illinois, and has completed his medical training at Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, Chicago Medical School, and the University of Miami Medical School. He has a passion for working with patients in outpatient clinics, post-acute care facilities, and assisted living homes.

Emanuel Salcedo MD

Family Medicine Resident

Dr. Salcedo is a Family Medicine Resident who graduated from Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru and the UCLA IMG pre-residency program. He is passionate about improving Latino health outcomes and the use of technology in healthcare. In the past he has lead multiple health campaigns to different areas of Peru including the Amazon jungle and Andes Mountains. He co-hosts a podcast called “You Have Matched” which aims to support aspiring medical students through the residency application process.
